Dahlia has been adopted!

Dahlia w/KC (PCW #1663)
Female
Domestic Long Hair
Gray and White

Dahlia is a very low energy cat. She spends most of her day lounging. She likes to follow her owner from room to room because she enjoys company. She will sit beside you on the couch while you watch tv or curl up at the end of your bed while you sleep. She loves treats and food (wet and dry). She is vocal around meal times and will let you know she's ready for food until you've fed her.

Dahlia lived her first 2-4 years with a family. They also had dahlia's mother and a chihuahua, she was declawed while in their custody. The family gave her over to the SPCA requesting she be euthanized because she was old (they claimed she was 11), over weight and matted. Luckily the SPCA did not put her down and instead adopted her to my sister. Dahlia lived happily with my sister and husband for a year in Oakland and then moved with them to Hawaii. Dahlia lived in Hawaii for 2 years until my sisters husband had to be restationed and they could not bring her with them. She was then flown back to Oakland where I have been caring for her for a year now. I have recently begun having some health problems that it make it very difficult for me to care for dahlia. I love her dearly but she has become stressed sensing the trouble I have meeting her parenting needs.

Dahlia would do fine in a home with cats or dogs. She more easily adjusts to dogs but given some time she has done just fine living with another cat. I assume she would be fine with children but I don't believe she has ever lived with any. Her ideal parent/s would be someone who was home often and did little travel for work ( she gets very sad when her owner is gone for several nights.) She is fine alone all day but she will come running to greet you when you come home at night. She'll be your biggest fan.

The vet has given her a clean bill of health as of February 2016. She also had a full dental teeth cleaning in February.
