Garfield is a sweet orange male cat who loves to play with other young cats, then sleeps like a log. He seems to adapt easily to new environments with other cats but it does take him a while to adapt to people. He purrs when you pet him and will sit on the sofa next to his human for some serious petting. So far he has been well accepted by other cats and is quite happy to be indoors getting regular meals. Garfield is a large cat and a bit on the heavy side for his young age weighing in at 21 pounds.
Garfield has been passed around to several households and outdoor colonies in his short life and is a bit reserved because of all this change. In addition one of his homes did not feed him regularly so he tends to overeat. Because the situations in his youth have been less than ideal he is a bit hesitant with adults which is understandable.
It is unknown how Garfield would react to dogs. For sure, it would need to be a quiet dog used to cats. Garfield does not like loud noises so a home with older gentle children or adults would be ideal. Garfield is not a dominant cat and would be a wonderful companion to another cat of similar age. He loves both adults and kittens alike. Garfield's favorite toy is a laser pointer. He can hear the sound when it is picked up and comes running.
Please note:
- Garfield needs a home with no dogs
- Indoor only
